- 1 pound ground beef or a mix of beef and pork
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 carrots, finely chopped
- 2 celery stalks, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (28 ounces) crushed tomatoes
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste
- 1 cup red wine (optional)
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 pound pasta (tagliatelle or your choice)
- Grated Parmesan cheese for serving
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a skillet and sauté onion, carrots, and celery until soft (5-7 minutes).
- Add ground meat, breaking it apart, and cook until browned (about 10 minutes).
- Stir in garlic and tomato paste, cooking for an additional 2 minutes.
- If using, pour in red wine and let simmer for 5 minutes.
- Add crushed tomatoes, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper, and bring to a gentle simmer.
- Lower heat and let sauce simmer for at least 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Cook pasta according to package instructions, then drain.
- Combine pasta with Bolognese sauce, toss well, and serve hot with Parmesan cheese.

- For a richer flavor, let the sauce simmer longer.
- Feel free to use any pasta type you prefer.
