- 4 large russet potatoes, thinly sliced
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg (optional)
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Combine heavy cream, garlic, salt, pepper, and nutmeg in a bowl and whisk.
- Layer sliced potatoes in a greased baking dish, overlapping slightly.
- Pour half of the cream mixture over the potatoes and sprinkle with half the cheese. Repeat with remaining potatoes, cream, and cheese.
- Dot the top with small pieces of butter.
- Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes, then uncover and bake for an additional 15 minutes until golden brown.
Notes
- Feel free to adjust the spice levels to your taste.
- Garnish with fresh parsley before serving for added color.
