Ingredients

  • 2 lbs of chicken thighs (bone-in, skin-on for maximum crunch)
  • 1 cup of all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon of onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • ½ teaspoon of black pepper
  • 1 cup of buttermilk
  • ½ cup of honey
  • ¼ cup of soy sauce
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon of sesame oil (optional)
  • Chopped green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Marinate chicken in buttermilk, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper for at least one hour.
  2. Combine flour, baking powder, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  3. Coat marinated chicken with the flour mixture and shake off excess flour.
  4. Fry the chicken in hot oil for 7-8 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through.
  5. Prepare honey garlic sauce by simmering honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, and sesame oil until thickened.
  6. Drizzle sauce over the fried chicken and garnish with chopped green onions.
