  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup pineapple juice
  • 1 can (20 oz) pineapple slices in juice
  • 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves (optional)
  • Whole cloves (for decoration)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (160°C).
  2. Place the ham in a roasting pan and score the rind in a diamond pattern.
  3. Combine brown sugar, pineapple juice, Dijon mustard, and ground cloves in a bowl to make the glaze.
  4. Pour the glaze over the ham, covering it generously.
  5. Arrange pineapple slices on top of the ham, securing with whole cloves.
  6. Cover with foil and bake for 1 hour, then remove the foil and bake for an additional hour.
  7. Baste the ham every 20 minutes during the last hour.
  8. Check the internal temperature of the ham (should reach 140°F/60°C) and let it rest for 15 minutes before serving.
