Ingredients
Scale
- 1 fully cooked ham (about 6–8 pounds)
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup pineapple juice
- 1 can (20 oz) pineapple slices in juice
- 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves (optional)
- Whole cloves (for decoration)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 325°F (160°C).
- Place the ham in a roasting pan and score the rind in a diamond pattern.
- Combine brown sugar, pineapple juice, Dijon mustard, and ground cloves in a bowl to make the glaze.
- Pour the glaze over the ham, covering it generously.
- Arrange pineapple slices on top of the ham, securing with whole cloves.
- Cover with foil and bake for 1 hour, then remove the foil and bake for an additional hour.
- Baste the ham every 20 minutes during the last hour.
- Check the internal temperature of the ham (should reach 140°F/60°C) and let it rest for 15 minutes before serving.
Notes
- Score the ham for better glaze absorption and presentation.
- Basting helps to keep the ham moist and enhances the flavor.
