Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease an 8×8 inch baking pan or line with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk the melted butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla until smooth.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and stir gently until just combined.
- Fold in diced apples and cinnamon (if using).
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and sprinkle with nuts if desired.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, checking for doneness with a toothpick.
- Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before cutting.
